You have just set the stage for what follows. Now, invite your spirit guide to join you. When he or she arrives, engage in a conversation as you would with any dear and trusted friend. Ask questions of your spirit guide as you stroll together through the garden. It’s like talking with someone who is infinitely wise. After a while when your conversation ends, thank your guide, bid farewell, and gently open your eyes in the physical world.
Immediately write down as much as you can remember about the encounter with your spirit guide and your conversation. Describe your feelings about the experience. Do this at once before you begin to forget it, just as you soon forget your nighttime dreams when you awaken each morning.
The Experience Was Real
Didn’t the experience seem real? In fact, it was every bit as real as your daily experiences here in the physical world. Didn’t it seem like a guided meditation? It was, except that, instead of being guided, you were guiding it yourself.
You will be amazed at how much knowledge and wisdom you gain as you continue to travel beyond the veil to meet your spirit guide or guides in this way. You may even find it to be more productive than traditional forms of meditation which expect you to silence your mind. I have found it helpful to know beforehand what I wish to discuss with my spirit guide. I usually have a specific question in mind.
Traveling beyond the veil to the spirit realms is my favorite form of creative visualization. For me, it is a kind of active meditation. From it have emerged many of my postings on this blogsite. For example, take a look at this one: "How I Learned About My Job in Heaven."
Our imaginations are extremely powerful. In fact, we create every thing and every experience in our minds before they manifest here in the physical world. For example, I visualized the Spirit Quest meeting space long before its actual construction.
It's Easy and Fun
A interesting aspect of creative visualization is that our conscious minds cannot seem to tell the difference between a real experience and an imagined one. Either way, the experience feels real and allows you to feed energy to your subconscious mind where your dreams and goals originate.
Yes, you can use creative visualization to achieve wealth, perfect relationships, homes, cars, and other material things. You can use creative visualization to improve any aspect of your life. But I am convinced that visualization for spiritual purposes is far more important than it is for physical purposes. Why? Because spiritual visualization allows you to establish a working relationship with Spirit and to co-create the kind of life you want to have.
Just create the setting. It may be a on a beach, in a forest or garden, in the mountains, or any other location that you find tranquil and relaxing. Be sure to engage all of your senses such as sounds and smells, because this reinforces the realism of the experience. Feel the gentle breeze and the warmth of the sun. Smell and taste the salty ocean air. Now that you’ve created the setting, invite your spirit guide to join you. Then see what happens.
Yes, you can do this. It’s easy and fun. You already do it all the time when you plan, anticipate, imagine, or daydream. You are literally creating your life experience at all times. You are constantly attracting people and events into your life. If it feels like you’re making it all up when you visualize, that’s okay. That’s normal at first. Soon enough, the results will amaze you.
